ALL LASER LASIK THE LATEST IN LASER TREATMENTS
Utilizing the latest in laser treatments such as the Ziemer FEMTO LDV™ Femtosecond Laser to create the corneal flap and the VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser with CustomVue for reshaping the corneal surface into perfection, we can now offer our patients more predictability when it comes to laser vision correction. In three seamless steps patients can experience the freedom from glasses and contact lenses.
First Step: Eye Measurements
We use VISX’s WaveScan WaveFront based digital technology to identify, measure and address imperfections in your eye, referred to as a WavePrint® map of your eye. This information is then transferred to the VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer laser and used as a guide to reshape the cornea during your laser vision treatment.
Second Step: Creating the Corneal Flap
The surgeon uses a Ziemer FEMTO LDV™ Laser with its ultra fast, tightly focused, low energy laser beam to create a corneal flap. Microscopic bubbles develop precisely at the intended depth within the cornea. The laser pulses are delivered through a lens which the surgeon is holding against your eye. This causes the layers of the cornea to separate thereby creating a corneal flap of the desired thickness, size, orientation and location, unique to each patient’s needs. The bubbles disappear once the flap is lifted resulting in a smoother surface and allowing the third step to begin immediately.
Third Step: Customized Procedure
Following the creation of the corneal flap, the cool light of the VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser reshapes the inner tissue of the cornea that is based on the WavePrint® map of your unique prescription, resulting in better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses. This usually takes less than a minute.
Although no individual’s outcome can be guaranteed, clinical studies indicate the extraordinary effectiveness of combining these laser treatment technologies.
With the precision of Ziemer FEMTO LDV™ Femtosecond Laser and the VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser with CustomVue, laser vision correction is now an even safer and more predictable procedure.
· Custom-tailored precise corneal flap creation, especially important for patients with thin corneas
· Safer intra-operative procedure
· Reduces risk of unwanted nighttime side effects
· More likely to achieve 20/20 or better vision
